Appeals
Every punishment can be appealed, including permanent bans. A person reads every appeal and answers within 72 hours.
Before you appeal
- Check the ban log for your name: it shows the category and the length. Short mutes and bans often end before an appeal would be answered.
- Read the rule you were punished under. An appeal that explains what happened goes further than one that says the ban was unfair.
How to appeal
- Open the Saltbox Discord and create a ticket in the appeals channel, or email
servers@saltbox.ggif you cannot use Discord. - Include: your exact in-game name (Bedrock players: with the leading dot), the date of the punishment, and what happened in your own words. If you think the evidence is wrong, say what you were doing at the time.
- One appeal per punishment. A second appeal for the same punishment is only read if it brings something new.
What happens next
- Staff review the evidence that led to the punishment: chat logs, block logs, anti-cheat flags and the report that started it. The person who issued the punishment does not decide the appeal alone.
- You get an answer in the ticket within 72 hours: upheld, shortened, or overturned, with a short reason.
- An overturned ban is marked overturned on the public ban log, and anything rolled back by mistake is restored where the logs allow it.
What an appeal cannot do
- Buy an unban. Nothing in the store removes a punishment.
- Appeal for someone else. The player, or the parent or guardian of a player, appeals.
- Reverse a ban for cheating where the client or the logs leave no doubt. Those appeals are still read and answered.
Reporting a player
To report someone, use /report <player> <reason> in game; it attaches the recent chat and block logs for staff.
Reports made in Discord without an in-game report take longer.
